Samsung has recently announced the so-called Galaxy Book2, a new 2-in-1 device that looks way too much like Microsoft’s new Surface Pro 6.

With a 12-inch sAMOLED FHD+ display with a resolution of 2160x1440 pixels, the Galaxy Book2 is Samsung’s first Always Connected PC, as it’s powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 850 processor.

The device features LTE support thanks to a Snapdragon X20 modem, and boasts 4GB RAM and 128GB storage, with extra storage available via microSD cards.

Samsung’s Galaxy Book2 runs Windows 10 in S Mode, which is restricted to Microsoft Store apps, but users can unlock full Windows 10 free of charge. It also supports Windows Hello thanks to a fingerprint sensor, and boasts speakers tuned by AKG, the same company that optimized the speakers on the Galaxy Note 9.

Impressive battery life

The keyboard is included by default, and so is the S Pen, which will allow you to take full advantage of features like Windows Ink in Windows 10, with or without unlocking the full version of the operating system.

The main highlight, however, is the battery life. As it happens on all the other Always Connected PCs released so far, the Qualcomm processor can provide more battery life than on conventional laptops, and on the Galaxy Book2, Samsung says it can reach 20 hours.

“The freedom to work anywhere requires the confidence that your PC will always be ready to go. Whether you’re working from an office, on-site, or just making your way through a day of meetings, you need a battery that can keep up,” the company says.

“You need to know that you can do it all without constantly looking to see how many minutes of power you have left. With the long-lasting battery in the Galaxy Book2, you can work uninterrupted for up to 20 hours - more than two full work days. And with Adaptive Fast charging, you can recharge quickly whenever you find a spare moment.”

Samsung Galaxy Book2 will go on sale on November 2 and will be priced from $999 in the United States.
