After reporting a few weeks ago that Acer was prepping the Cloudbook notebook with Windows 10, which will reportedly sell for only $169 / €153, today we bring you news that the Taiwanese company is continuing the trend of rolling out affordable Windows machines.

A new device model, which albeit not launched with Windows 10 will be upgradable to Microsoft’s latest OS, has recently showed up from the same manufacturer.

Say hello to the Acer One 10, which is a 2-in-1 Windows device equipped with a foldable keyboard dock which allows users to use it in several ways, including laptop, tent and display modes.

The new convertible arrives with a 10.1-inch backlit 5-point multitouch screen with an average 1280 x 800 pixel resolution. Acer says the display is great for web browsing, light reading and studying, and casual gaming.

The Acer One 10 ships with Windows 8.1 out of the box

The device is powered by a quad-core Intel Atom CPU (exact model is unknown) fitted with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage out of the box, although those who feel the need for more storage capacity can expand it via microSD card or microSDXC.

The hybrid features a 2MP front and rear combo with 1600 x 1200 resolution. The producing company also throws in a built-in digital microphone to allow sound capture.

While the Acer One 10 is not a device that will leave you drooling, it’s still good enough to sustain the usual daily activities. And the best part is that customers can pick it up from Best Buy for only $199 / €181 a pop.

On top of that, you should also bear in mind that the Acer One 10 will be eligible to receive the Windows 10 upgrade when the time comes.

Still, if you want Windows 10 by default, you might want to wait until August when the Acer Cloudbook arrives in stores.

The notebook should come with an 11.6-inch display with 1366 x 768 pixel resolution, at least 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, and a low-power processor probably of Intel origins. However, the Cloudbook is not a hybrid model, but a regular notebook that can’t be used in tablet mode.
